I confirmed by looking at the negatives. The post has been corrected as a result.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve been waiting for a snowy day to take some black and white photos! I was excited about the snow, so I picked up another roll of Arista.EDU Ultra 400 and gave it a go. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"709\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cfabz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/06-14-1024x709.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-125\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cfabz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/06-14-1024x709.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.cfabz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/06-14-300x208.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.cfabz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/06-14-768x532.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After developing and scanning this roll, my excitement wasn&#8217;t as palpable. The whole roll lacks a lot of contrast and detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"705\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cfabz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/06-18-1-1024x705.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-126\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cfabz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/06-18-1-1024x705.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.cfabz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/06-18-1-300x207.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.cfabz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/06-18-1-768x529.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I was also trying to capture the snow as it was falling, but you can&#8217;t see anything. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"713\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cfabz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/06-19-1024x713.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-127\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cfabz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/06-19-1024x713.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.cfabz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/06-19-300x209.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.cfabz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/06-19-768x535.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The trees and leaves show minimal detail. While bad exposure is the biggest contributing factor, the grain doesn&#8217;t help matters. There&#8217;s no detail of the folds and texture of the snow on the cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pictures are also very dark. If I remember right, they got blown out when I tried to adjust them after scanning<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"697\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cfabz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/06-35-697x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-128\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cfabz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/06-35-697x1024.jpg 697w, https:\/\/www.cfabz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/06-35-204x300.jpg 204w, https:\/\/www.cfabz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/06-35-768x1128.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 697px) 100vw, 697px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I developed these pictures like the last few rolls, using semi-stand 100:1 Rodinal for 1 hour. I was hoping that would build up the mid-tones and shadows, but unfortunately it didn&#8217;t work.
