As mentioned before, after I shot a roll or two of Kentmere 400, I bought some Kentmere 100 to try out as well. I am very pleased with the results, especially for a cheap film. I actually may like shooting this film more than Ilford FP4+, Ilford’s more expensive and “better” sibling.
It isn’t perfect. Looking back some of the pictures, areas of shadows (maybe the highlights) don’t separate as much as I think they should, but it’s not a game breaker by any means. The grain seems a bit better than what I was getting with Ilford’s other films, including FP4+ and Pan F. (That may be something in the development or the scanner. I’m kinda new to this so take that with a grain of salt.) I think this will be my new go-to for cheap film over the Fomapan.
My friend had an Independence Day party, so it was another very good opportunity to grab some photos. As I’m posting this, I’m pretty far behind, but I’m starting to catch up. We had a bright sunny day to work with, so I had no problem with the 100 ISO Kentmere film.
