I’ve shot a few rolls of Fomapan 400 already on the Miranda A, knowing that the the real ISO of the film is 250, but I haven’t shot it on my usual Pentax camera. I’ve purposely metered for 250 on the old Miranda A camera, but I’m not 100% sure that the shutter speed is accurate. It may be a tad bit slower than it should. I wanted to confirm that the 250 setting works for this film, so I shot another roll on the Pentax.

Shooting this test roll at 250 provided much better results than shooting at its rated 400. The detail is much better and the shadows are no longer crushed. Given this experimentation, if I shoot Fomapan in the future, it will be Fomapan 100 or 200. The Fomapan 400 can’t really get good pictures at 400 ISO, and the grain is larger. Since I shot the Fomapan 200 at 200 and had no problems, I really don’t see how the extra 50 ISO helps.

With all that said, I’m pleased with how these came out. I used some macro filters on some of these shots to get close up, and over all, I think I got some nice pictures.
