OK, now for the second roll. I got a bit more density on the negatives on this roll. Also, there’s a bit more contrast and detail, but the contrast is still lacking. Many places lack necessary detail, especially in the shadows. This roll was developed in Rodinal at a 100:1 dilution. I did a one hour semi-stand developing cycle with a light agitation at 30 minutes. This was another roll of Arista.EDU Ultra 400.

Not sure why this picture and the title picture are smoother, albeit darker, than the others. I got the scanner to scan it that way, but haven’t found out how to replicate it. That may be a good thing, as these pics are very dark. The details on my grandparent’s dog, Sam, are almost non-existent. It’s very hard to make out features on his face or even where his eyes are in some cases.

Throwing and shooting worked okay. It was a little cloudy, hence the slower shutter speed. The ball is a blur. This roll was shot at box speed.

Sam loves to play.

The car pictures fared a little bit better. Again, detail was hard to bring out in areas such as the front bumper on the truck.

As well as the car.

My grandparent’s garden. Looking back at this picture, a green filter would probably make some of the plants pop.

I like the cloud effect in this picture. I should probably go back and re-adjust pictures from this roll to make them more consistent and improve detail quality.
