After the three Arista rolls, I wanted to use a film of a better quality. I bought some Kodak Tri-X 400 film and slapped it in the camera for Christmas. The film was a bit better, given the fact that it was fresh (the Arista rolls were slightly expired by a few months) and from one of the big producers. However, I was still using the Nikon flash, which didn’t always cooperate with the Pentax. Exposure is all over the place, once again.

I shot these pics at box speed and developed them in a 100:1 dilution of Rodinal with semi-stand agitation for an hour. The grain isn’t bad at all, but not as smooth as the TMax film I used later. I still had to do a bit of touch-up on these. Looking back, I think that using distilled water may help with the specs and artifacts on the negatives. I have to remember to get some the next time I’m at the store.

A bit darker than what I wanted. The floor lost a lot of detail.

This one’s better.

I had to do a whole bunch of editing on this one. This poor negative was attacked by lint, scratches and specs.

The grain on this one was a lot better. I’m not sure what I did. On later films, I’ve tried different development styles, but exposure seems play a bigger factor on grain. Switching developers would help as well as Rodinal isn’t known for its smooth grain.

This one’s another good one, but with a little better brightness.

Fingers….

MORE FINGERS!!!!
